  Top 10 Tips for Good Communication
  1. Talk from "I" and "me" not "you."

  2. Don't make assumptions.

  3. Avoid words like "should" and "ought" and phrases like "you always." and "you never."

  4. Ask open-ended questions that don't require "yes" or "no" answers.

  5. Keep to the present, don't bring up resentments from the past.

  6. Change complaints and criticisms into requests.

  7. Distinguish feeling from judgements.

  8. Negotiate: give to get.

  9. Aim for a win-win situation, so there are no losers.

  10. Agree to disagree.
